Between Monday 10 and Friday, May 14, 2010, the Project Team in charge of the Americas had the opportunity to meet in Edmonton, Canada, to take stock of the five years which had been assigned to them (2006-2011).
The welcome given by the Sisters of the region was extraordinary. Each of us was both excited and enthusiastic to know that history continued with us, and that the five-year planning and its review were taking place in countries that had never been visited for such events : Venezuela and Canada.
We started by looking at all the positive experiences of the members of the Project Coordinating Team during this time, and also the difficulties and problems we had to face.
Then, using reports and evaluation criteria that we had previously sent out to the brothers, fraternities and sisters in different countries, we noted, once again, that the Project of the Americas had been well received and it was bearing fruit : integration, exchange, mutual growth.
We are aware that the rhythms of progress have been different, and that the problems encountered by some delayed the Project a little in some countries. However we have noticed one thing that was constant : these countries want to continue with us the paths of integration and communion that we experienced during these five years.
We want to continue to grow together in a spirituality that unites us, thanks to the God who leads us…
Thank you for the trust which has been manifested to us. May the Spirit of the Incarnate Word urge us to seek paths of integration, multiculturalism, collaboration, and communion, so that the Gospel comes ALIVE in all of us, wherever we strive to embody Jesus Christ.
May the Virgin Mother, Mary of Nazareth, help us in our projects. AMEN !
