On September 30, 2024, the official inauguration ceremony took place, presided over by Abbé Benjamin KOULAGNIA, Chancellor and personal representative of the Bishop of the Diocese of Ngaoundéré, in the presence of several religious and administrative authorities, and a huge population, who came to enhance the splendor of this event which enters our history as the Ursuline of Jesus.

The ceremony began with the playing of the National Anthem, followed by the opening prayer and a word of welcome from the Headmistress, Sr Philomène ADIANA, accompanied by the pupils, who have been attending classes since September 9, as elsewhere in Cameroon.

In the speeches made by the various authorities, one could sense their satisfaction and gratitude for this school structure, which not only responds to a crucial need of the population, but also embellishes the environment in which it is located. These speeches were punctuated by performances by the school’s first pupils, whose choreography delighted and delighted the parents and the entire population present at the event.

This dynamic of joy and wonder was followed by the cutting of the ribbon, the inaugural prayer and blessing of the building, the unveiling of the inaugural plaque and the guided tour of the school.

In her speech on behalf of the entire congregation, Sr Mariángel MARCO, General Councillor, Delegate for Cameroon, recalled that the project which is becoming a reality today is a twofold response : a response to the love of Christ, who urges us to be an extension of his incarnation in our places of insertion, and also a response to the demand of the population for an educational framework. This work fits in well with our charism, which invites us to be teachers for the fulfillment of each of God’s creatures.

« How beautiful your vocation is, teachers, love these children who are also God’s children »

our founder liked to say, Louis Marie Baudouin.

Father Benjamin, while giving thanks to the Lord for having made this work possible, thanked the entire congregation for having chosen the diocese of Ngaoundéré to set up this complex, which could become a veritable melting pot of knowledge for the population ; he thus underlined the contribution of the Ursulines of Jesus to the pastoral action of the diocese, which consists in promoting and improving the population’s access to an integral, inclusive and quality education in the Adamaoua Region.

With the Lord’s grace and the participation of each and every one of us, we want to contribute to the integral growth of mankind, which necessarily involves quality education for young people, hence the motto chosen for the complex : “To make life grow”.

The inauguration day came to a close with a light rain shower as a sign of blessing, guests marvelling at this architectural jewel and sharing a fraternal meal. We could see the joy and gratitude on everyone’s faces !

In giving thanks to the Lord for God’s wonders, we want to renew our thanks to our General Council Sisters for their contributions, to the contractor and his team for their collaboration and satisfactory work, to all our benefactors for their remarkable contributions. To one and all, thank you !

May the Lord bless us and continue to accompany us until the completion of this school complex for God’s glory and the good of our people.
