A retreat with students of the University of Alberta

"What is God inviting me to do with the rest of my life?".

February 15 and 16 a group of students from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, who are involved in the Catholic college on campus, gathered at Rundle MIssion on Pigeon Lake for a retreat. The weather was magnificent- lots of snow, sunshine and a gentle breeze !

The theme of the retreat was "Listening to The Holy Spirit in our Lives". Theresa, one of the Catholic chaplains, Fr. Dan Gurnick, OFM and Mary Clare facilitated the retreat. The very diverse group, as you can see by the photo, was full of joy and enthusiasm. It truly was a grace to be able to accompany these young women and men.

Sunday morning Mary Clare guided them through an experience of the Prayer of the Imagination. In the afternoon she shared with the participants her response to God’s call and encouraged them to answer for themselves, "What is God inviting me to do with the rest of my life?".

After a time of personal prayer, they gathered in groups of three and helped one another to discern the unique gifts each one brings to build up the Body of Christ on the University campus.

While we waited for the bus, late Sunday afternoon, the students decided to build a snowman. It was great fun! Please continue to hold these young adults in prayer as they try to more fully live their baptismal call to "announce the good news".
